Matt’s early travel experiences consisted of an 18-hour car ride to Bush Gardens in Williamsburg, VA, and 10-hour car ride to Niagara Falls. He would say that his parent’s took a lot of direction from the Griswold family of ‘National Lampoon’ fame with marathon road trips. After flying for the first time as a senior in high school, there was no looking back. Matt’s first trip to France and Monaco in college was the spark that lit the fire to his travel passion.

Now older and travel hacking wiser, he is a full-time nomad with his wife and four sons. When not roaming the streets of his home base in Syros, Greece, he can be found having a family adventure like driving a camper van through New Zealand, trekking to a hut in northern Thailand, riding a funicular to the peaks in Zermatt, or boating off the coast of Vancouver, BC.

What is your favorite country or travel experience? It's hard to pick just one, but some of the best would be watching my sons run through Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, riding mopeds through the rice fields outside of Hoi An, Vietnam, riding the salt miner’s slide in Hallstatt, Austria, and hiking the dolomites in northern Italy.

Do you have a favorite travel hack that you’ve done? Having extended stays at a destination (i.e. a month or more) and making deep connections with locals has unlocked some amazing experiences!
