Good morning and welcome back to Daily Drop, the travel newsletter that feels like going on a run. Sometimes, you’ve got to gear up, but once you’re out, the serotonin kicks in and you’re feeling on top of the world!

Here are the deals that got me feelin’ that way:

  • 💳 25% transfer bonus to flying Blue

  • 💸 Southwest $29 sale (today only)

  • ✈️ Singapore 25% award sale

  • 🎙️ Daily Drop Podcast: How to book stopovers

💳 25% transfer bonus to flying Blue

I love transfer bonuses. I love them so much that I dream about them sometimes.

I know, I’m a weirdo…

But one of those dreams has come true this week because you can now transfer UR points to KLM/Air France Flying Blue with a 25% bonus.

This transfer bonus makes me very happy.

Flying Blue miles are some of the best, most flexible, and most valuable in the biz.

Not only can you fly to Europe for around 11,000 miles every month, but you can use these miles to book flights all over the world with various partner airlines.

For example, I used Flying Blue miles to book a flight from Madagascar to Tanzania on Kenya Airways last month.

With a transfer bonus, this flight would’ve only cost 16,800 miles.

Considering how expensive flights in Africa are (this particular one would normally cost over $1,000), this is an amazing deal.

But that’s for the more adventurous types.

Most of you folk probably care more about the beloved Flying Blue monthly Promo Rewards (you can find the current ones here), which let you fly to Europe from various North American cities for very low amounts of miles.

For example, this flight from Chicago to Frankfurt, Germany, only costs 11,250 miles one-way.

With a transfer bonus, you’d only need to transfer 9,000 UR points to book this flight.

I know, I know - you’re blown away.

I’ve used Flying Blue miles to book flights in China, Cambodia, Japan, Madagascar, Brazil, Argentina, and ALL over Europe.

So if you need to book some flights in the near future or want to build up a nice balance of miles for future use, I’d highly recommend seizing the moment and utilizing this bonus.

The offer ends on November 30th, so mark your calendars.

💸 Southwest $29 sale (today only)

Southwest is having a BIG ol sale for today only, allowing you to book flights for as cheap as $29 one-way.

Even for Southwest, that’s VERY cheap…

Here are some more deets:

  • Most of the super-low fares are for nonstop flights, though it varies by route

  • The sale is only valid until 11:59pm PDT time tonight

  • Travel can take place between November 7th, 2023 and March 6th, 2024

  • There are a whole mess of blackout dates (you can see them on the sale page)

So yeah. This is nice.

As I said earlier, it’s VERY rare to see a Southwest sale with flights down as low as $29 one-way, so this is a great chance to book flights over the next five months.

I found flights between Baltimore and Long Island, NY for just $29 one-way, and a surprising amount of dates with this price available.

If you are traveling between New York City and Chicago, there are tons of dates with $49 flights available, which is a great deal for that route.

Overall, it’s always nice to see these flash sales from Southwest.

When I lived in the U.S., Southwest was my favorite airline. I loved how convenient and flexible their flights were, and their product has only continued to get better over the years.

Having said that, Southwest does have sales like this quite often.

So while you should definitely hop on this deal if you can, don’t worry too much about it - another sale will likely come in a matter of weeks or months anyway.

Happy flight hunting! 😁

✈️ Singapore 25% award sale

Each month, Singapore Airlines usually releases their Spontaneous Escapes promo, which often brings killer flight deals… if you’re willing to be spontaneous 😉

However, we’ve yet to see that this month.

Instead, they’ve launched something new called the Global Redemption Sale which is offering 25% off select award flights in their network.

This discount applies to all economy Singapore Airlines Saver-level awards to ANYWHERE in their network.

It also applies to Saver-level premium economy awards between Singapore and San Francisco, New York JFK, and New York Newark.

What it doesn’t apply to is business, first, or suite class awards… which is a bit of a bummer 😒

And here’s the typical spontaneous part about most KrisFlyer promos, including this one… your flights need to be booked between now and October 22nd.

That booking date is quickly approaching, but your actual flights would need to happen sometime between January 1st and July 31st, 2024.

You don’t have to register for this—you’ll just see the discount reflected on eligible flights 👇

If any of these spontaneous itineraries happen to work for you, I’d jump on ‘em!

Nothing makes me smile more than finding a deal that saves me some of my hard-earned miles 😄

But beware—they can’t be changed or canceled once booked.

If you’re now wondering, “Well, how the heck do I get KrisFlyer miles?”

Fortunately for you, my wee travel hackers, Singapore Airlines is a transfer partner of every major bank.

So no matter what miles and points currency you’re working with, you’ll be able to turn them into KrisFlyer miles.

Just make sure there’s award space available before you make that transfer because it’s a one-way street, y’all 😉

🎙️ Podcast: How to book stopovers

In case you didn’t know, we started a podcast. It’s called the Daily Drop Podcast.

Every week (and sometimes more often), Megan and I sit down to talk about travel hacking in a way that we simply don’t have space to do in this newsletter.

We think it’s a lot of fun, so check it out by clicking here, going on YouTube, or searching for us wherever you get your podcasts.

That’s all for today, folks! I love it when we can give you a newsletter with three AWESOME travel hacking opportunities, and I feel like today was just that!

I’m personally going to go transfer some points over to KLM/Air France right now to get extra miles toward some free future travel.

Have you ever made a booking using Flying Blue miles?

If so, tell us about it!

Only Email Recipients can participate in polls.

Goodbye.
