Book Hyatt hotels for 1,500 points

Hyatt just dropped a bunch of new targeted promos, and they’re… all over the place.

Every offer is a little different, but they include chances to earn bonus points, extra elite nights, and even free night awards.

So go check your Hyatt account right now and see what you’ve been targeted for.

My offer (and why it’s awesome)

Personally, I got an offer to earn 10,000 bonus points for every five nights, up to a total of 50,000 bonus points.

That’s basically 2,000 extra points per night — and the kicker? Both paid and award stays count. 😎

The registration deadline for my offer is September 11, and once you register, your promo period is 90 days.

That means there’s a strategy here — you don’t want to burn part of your 90-day window on weeks where you have no stays booked.

For example, I have a stay at the Hyatt Regency Nairobi Westlands at the end of August, so I’m waiting until right before that trip to register. 👇

That way, my entire 90-day promo window is filled with stays I’m actually doing.

Why this can be an insane award rebate

Because this works on award stays, you can essentially think of it as a rebate on points.

In September, I’ve got a bunch of Hyatt stays in China, including a Category 1 property in Chengdu that costs just 3,500 points per night.

If I’m earning 2,000 points back per night, my net cost is… 1,500 points per night. 🤯

WTF?? That’s insane.

And it’s not just in China (though China is jam-packed with them). There are even Category 1 hotels in the U.S. where this could work just as well, such as:

• Hyatt Regency Wichita

• Hyatt Regency Rochester

• Hyatt House Houston/Galleria

How to get Hyatt points

If you’ve got a stash of transferable points, this is where things get fun.

For example, you could open the Chase Sapphire Reserve® (currently offering 100,000 points after meeting a spend requirement), transfer them to Hyatt, and book dozens of nights at properties like these — all while earning a ton of those points right back.

Bottom line

Targeted offers like this don’t come around often, and because you can choose when to start the 90-day clock, you can fully maximize it around your travel. So…

• Check your Hyatt account to see your offer.

• Register strategically so you don’t waste promo days.

• And if your offer is anything like mine… start plotting how to squeeze the absolute most out of it.

🌏 This U.S. city just became a gateway to Asia

If you live in Phoenix (or if you don’t mind taking a short positioning flight), Asia just got a lot closer.

Soon, not one — but two — premium Asian carriers are swooping in with new nonstop routes to Phoenix (PHX).

First came Starlux Airlines, announcing a brand-new nonstop flight from Phoenix to Taipei (TPE) starting in January 2026.

Days later, China Airlines dropped the news that it will also fly from Phoenix to Taipei, starting December 2025 — beating Starlux to the punch by a month.

How to book these flights with points and miles

While Starlux cash tickets are already on sale, award seats via its partner, Alaska Airlines, aren’t available yet.

Once they are, you can expect rates of:

• 37,500 miles in economy

• 75,000 miles in business class

Those business-class rates are a fantastic value for a 12-hour flight, especially when you consider Starlux’s reputation for luxury touches, beautiful cabin design, and high-end dining that puts most airlines to shame.

You can already book China Airlines economy flights for 36,500 Flying Blue miles — since both programs are SkyTeam members.

Taxes and fees are a bit steeper here compared to Alaska’s rates for Starlux, but there’s a silver lining:

Flying Blue frequently runs 25–30% transfer bonuses from major U.S. bank partners, which could easily bring those prices down.

Why this matters (even if you don’t live in Phoenix)

If you’re based in a major U.S. city with limited award space to Asia, Phoenix just became your new best friend.

Instead of running 100 searches for nonstop flights from major coastal cities and coming up empty, you could:

1. Book a cheap cash or points positioning flight to Phoenix.

2. Hop on one of these new nonstops straight to Taipei.

3. Connect onward to destinations across Asia on either airline’s network.

The extra hop to Arizona is a small price to pay for locking in a comfortable, lie-flat seat on a nonstop flight to Asia — especially when you’re using points.

Bottom line

While China Airlines and Starlux are clearly competing, the real winner here is you.

More routes, more award options, and more competition mean better chances of scoring a seat to Asia — and maybe even some fare wars down the line.
