Good morning and happy Friday, everybody!

Mike is out sick today, so you've got me, April.

I run the content team behind the scenes here at Daily Drop, and I'm also the person on the team still openly learning points and miles out loud while everyone else makes it look effortless. 😅

Me, with my first points transfer…

But Mike did leave me a few things queued up before he went back to bed, so don’t worry, friends, he’s still looking out for us!

Also, because there's a good chance I wouldn't have found any of them on my own. 🫣

With that, here goes nothing!

✈️ Earn an extra 10,000 miles for flying economy

Maybe they’re just trying to make us all feel better about the devaluation they recently announced, but if bonus miles are on the table, I’m willing to hear them out.

Air France and KLM are running a promo through August 31: book a new economy ticket from the US to any Air France or KLM destination, and you'll earn 10,000 bonus Flying Blue Miles on top of your normal earning.

Ten thousand miles is not a free trip, and I'd rather tell you that up front than let you find out later.

A one-way award from the US to Paris or Amsterdam starts at 25,000 Miles, unless you find a Flying Blue monthly promo in which case you might get a flight closer to 18,750 miles.

So, this bonus moves you roughly 40% of the way toward a one-way to Europe, after you buy and fly a trip that qualifies.

The promo rules are as follows:

  • Book by August 31, 2026. Bookings had to be created on or after August 19, so we're already in the booking window.

  • Book direct through Air France or KLM. Not a search engine, not an online travel agency.

  • Air France or KLM has to both operate and market the flight, and at least one segment has to run from a US gateway to Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) or Amsterdam (AMS).

  • Economy only.

  • Your Flying Blue number has to be on the booking before you fly, and your profile has to show US residency.

  • Travel has to start and finish between August 19, 2026 and January 31, 2027.

  • One time per member — and everyone traveling on the same booking with a Flying Blue number earns the bonus.

  • Award tickets and cash-plus-miles bookings don't count.

  • Miles post up to six weeks after you finish traveling.

Which means if you were hoping to spend these on a holiday trip, don’t — you won't have them in time.

Mike prepared an example for us with this flight from NYC to Edinburgh. 👇

It’s an economy ticket, it departs the US, it lays over in Paris (CDG), it’s sold and operated by Air France, and it’s within the the travel window. ✅

It also only costs $285. And you’d earn 10,000 bonus miles just for flying it. Which is a pretty significant return on your cash investment.

Add in the regular Flying Blue miles you’d earn — 4 miles per euro is the base rate — and you’d earn almost 11,000 miles for a really cheap flight.

Not to mention any additional points you’d earn booking with a premium travel credit card like this one.

Is it worth going out of your way to plan a trip for? Probably not. But if you’ve got a Europe trip in the works between now and January, it could be an easy way to win on a cash flight. 🤔

Not a Flying Blue member? Joining is free, and the bonus applies starting with your first booking through August 31.

🏠 Bilt rebuilt a really useful authorized user setup

Most banks treat authorized users as an afterthought. You add your spouse, they get a card with their name and your account number on it, and that's it.

But because Bilt marches to it’s own drum, they’re shaking up their authorized user setup in interesting and potentially really useful ways.

When you add an authorized user, you can now essentially personalize what that looks like for each one, either during onboarding or when you add users later.

Here’s the basics:

  • Every user on the account gets their own card number

  • Virtual cards are available for authorized users ages 18 and up

  • Authorized users 18 and up can make housing payments

  • You can set per-transaction and monthly limits

  • You can choose how each user's rewards route

  • And you can choose where each card works

And because you can add authorized users starting at age 13, this card has just positioned itself as a phenomenal option for parents looking to add younger teens or even college students to their account.

The part I think is pretty cool as a parent is the age-13 option paired with per-transaction limits.

My kids are 22 and 24, so that ship admittedly sailed for me a while back, but I still remember the days of the oft-repeated refrain: “if you spent all the cash I gave you, you’ll have to do chores to earn more!”

The ability to hand a 13-year-old a card that works at three places and stops at $40 a swipe, with every line item visible to you, is one less teenage angst headache IMO.

Whether that's a parenting budgeting tool or a parenting trap is genuinely your call. 🤷‍♀️

I just hadn't seen a program build the guardrails in at that level before and was impressed… and might have to go look into the ability to earn rewards on all these college housing payments. 🤔

Nice work, Bilt!

🎉 A massive win from the Daily Drop Lounge

In case you didn’t know, we have our very own Daily Drop Lounge, where readers and community members can hang out and discuss the world of points and miles.

It’s a good time — and it’s also where you might see some crazy impressive redemptions from people just like you.

Like this one, that’s really two wins stacked on top of each other to score a massive 11.47 cpp on a Hawaiian getaway. 👇

First, a Daily Drop Pro deal pointed her in the right direction of a great deal. 🎉

Then, they leveraged a status match to get elite status with Delta — which turned a solid economy redemption into lie-flat seats for 8.5 hours over the Pacific Ocean. 🤯

Plus, their flights home are earning them a Southwest companion pass thanks to the recent promo — meaning more discounted travel wins to come. 😎

My takeaway? Elite status might be the most undersold asset in this hobby. It doesn't show up in a cents-per-point calculation but it can magically turn your Tuesday into a business class experience — and that’s one heck of a way to start a Hawaiian vacation.

(Also, OMG, 11 cents?!?! You GO with your bad selves! Virtual high fives from me 🙌)
