Hiya friends, and welcome back to Roadtripper,

Daylight Saving Time just ended here in Texas, which means I’ve woken up in a panic the last three days, thinking I missed my alarm when I see sunlight streaming in first thing.

This time of year means it starts getting dark by dinner time, cooler winter weather is coming, and, inevitably, in parts of the country – seasonal road closures.

And friends, this “road” we’ve been on is one of them. Or maybe it’s more like we’re putting the car in the garage for the winter. 🤔

As we saw in a Pit Stop Poll earlier this year, winter is the least popular time for taking a road trip. So it makes sense to pause while we’re all snuggled up at home and busy prepping for the holidays with family.

And so many of y’all have been loving our destinations, routes, and content here that we’d like to share it with more readers, namely by including it in our main daily newsletter!

While you spend your winter plotting your next great road trip, we’ll be planning how to bring you even better destination content alongside our regular points-and-miles travel news — all in one place.

And because this has always been something we’ve built for and tailored around you, dear reader, we’d love to hear what you’d like to read more about. So it only feels right to do oooone more Pit Stop Poll down below. 👇

Where we’ve been in 2026

But first, here’s a little look back at where we’ve been this year, in case you missed something or want to do a little planning this winter!

Stay safe out there

And don’t forget our Ultimate Road Trip Checklist, so you can stock up and be prepared for your next long drive.

Above all, thank you!

I’ve enjoyed bringing these routes to your inbox every week and learning so much about y’all!

Our Roadtrippers here aren’t afraid of a long drive, love taking the scenic route (especially if there are national parks involved), and often spend time on the road with those they love.

Y’all have completed some amazing drives all over the country and worldwide. You've inspired me by sharing your experiences, encouraging me to make some of my own bucket-list drives happen someday soon (I’m looking at you, Icefields Parkway! 👀).

Thank you, Roadtrippers!

Special Thanks: And if you’ve read every installment, I appreciate you coming along for the ride more than you know. As a thanks, here’s a little extra road trip inspo as you plan your next adventure. ❤️

  • Warm Up: Head south for better weather on these perfect winter road trips.

  • USA 250: Find your next road trip idea among these must-see sights all across the country.

  • New Kid on the Block: Visit Arizona's newest national park, open year-round and waiting to meet you!

  • Road Less Traveled: Spend less time in traffic and more time enjoying the sights in this southern city — plus the rest of the top 10 road trip cities.

🛑 The Pit Stop Poll: I want more of…

As someone who’s lived most of their life in a state that panics when the temp drops below 40 degrees, I’m probably the laaaast person who should be giving advice on driving in winter weather.

So it may be safer for everyone if we park this engine in the garage for the season! 😂

I’ll miss catching up with y’all here weekly, but keep your eye out for more destination content and road trip adventures in the main Daily Drop newsletter starting in 2027!

Drive safe, use your turn signal, and I’ll see y’all around!

👋❤️,

with contributions by Sam Anthony.
