And the winner is….

Obviously, I'm kidding. The real winner is Rose L. from Fresno. Congratulations!!!! You've got 75,000 United Airlines miles to do whatever you want with (though I hope you'll use them to travel somewhere). Again, we know that there are multiple Rose L's subscribed. But if you've won, you have an email from me sitting in your inbox.
I've published a post with a breakdown of how much these points are worth, some examples of how to redeem them, and some other creative ways to earn United miles.

For the rest of you, don't fret - We're not even HALF way through our million points and miles giveaway, so stick around next week!

👫 Exciting new airline partnership
|
|
Let me start by saying I realize that I've already shared one rumor with you in this newsletter that wasn't confirmed. While I don't like to report on mere rumors, the one I did share with you also ended up being true. So I have a 100% success rate. Let's not dwell on the small sample size.
The reason I'm telling you this is that I have another saucy rumor to share with you all today. 😏

According to The Air Current (an extremely reliable aviation news source), United Airlines and Emirates are teaming up to take over the skies with a new partnership… Maybe.
If this turns out to be true, this would mean a number of awesome things, such as:
- Redeeming points with each other's loyalty programs (like using United miles to book flights on Emirates)
- Elite status benefits honored between airlines (like free checked bags, upgrade priority, etc)
- Earning United miles when flying Emirates (and vice versa)
- Combining flights on the same itinerary (like flying United for the first leg and Emirates for the second leg, but all on the same ticket)
- Emirates first-class butler when flying in United economy (jk, that would be absurd)
This would be an amazing opportunity for anyone looking for exciting ways to redeem their United miles for maximum value (*hint hint* Rose L. from Fresno).
I'll be sure to let you know if/when this is official, but for now, you might want to start building up your United miles balance.

✌️ Israel bids adieu to its last 747 in style
|
|
If you've been reading the Daily Drop since the beginning, you'll know that I'm a big aviation nerd. Like the kind who plays a flight simulator on my phone while flying on a plane. It's pretty severe.
Well, I think this next story is something that even less nerdy travel enthusiasts will enjoy.
A few years ago, El Al (Israel's largest airline and flag carrier) said goodbye to its last Boeing 747 in a really fun and special way - by changing the flight path of its final voyage to draw the shape of the plane itself 👇
|
|
Now, if you were a passenger on this flight, you might've been a little angry at the additional time this must've added. But from the comfort of my computer screen, I think it's pretty cool. 😎
