šŸ§‘ā€šŸ’» TRENDING TRAVEL NEWS šŸ§‘ā€šŸ’»

• Tech Tip: Here’s how you could use AI to find cheaper flights.

• Heads Up: U.S. officials issued a Mexico travel warning — here’s what to know.

• Airport Prep: No REAL ID? TSA says you may need to pay a small fee.

• Airline News: Regional carriers Republic and Mesa merged, and here’s what that means.

Good morning from the Ancient Moonlight City in Shangri-La, China. šŸŒ™

I’m packing my bags to head home for the first time in more than two months, but before I do, we’ve got some more travel deals to cover:

šŸØ Hyatt is now in multiple portals (yay!)

For literal years, Hyatt has been that one friend who refuses to join group chats.

Everyone else is in the portal party — Marriott, Hilton, IHG — and Hyatt’s just… vibing alone.

But this weekend, something magical happened: World of Hyatt finally popped up in multiple shopping portals.

This is the first time we’ve seen this, and it is genuinely spicy news for points nerds.

Now, full honesty: portal bonuses are currently limited to North America and the Caribbean, which is devastating for me personally (because I live everywhere except there).

But for most of you…? Chef’s kiss.

Here’s why this matters:

Over the weekend, Rakuten briefly went absolutely feral and offered 12% back on Hyatt stays — or 12x MR points or Bilt points if you use those options.

Hyatt 12x through Rakuten

If you can redeem those points for two cents a pop (which you can), that’s basically a 24% return on money you were already planning to spend.

That 12x rate is gone now (RIP), but I’m still seeing 3x — and honestly, that’s still wild considering Hyatt has never participated in these portals before.

Just as exciting: Capital One Offers now has Hyatt too, also showing 3x for me.

3x Capital One miles on Hyatt

If you know Capital One Offers, you know the earning rates can get real crazy, real fast.

So now, on a single Hyatt cash stay, you can stack:

  • Your normal Hyatt points

  • Elite nights

  • Milestone rewards

  • Credit card points

  • AND bonus transferable points or cash back from a portal

This is the good stuff. The VERY GOOD stuff.

šŸ’” FYI: Capital One Offers earn miles on purchases and are only available to holders of Capital One credit cards.

Bottom line

If you’re booking a Hyatt cash stay in North America or the Caribbean, run — don’t walk — through a portal first.

This is literally free points on top of already-generous earnings, and it finally puts Hyatt on equal footing with all the other major chains.

(And it makes my little Hyatt fanboy heart extremely happy.)

šŸŽ„ Turn your December spending into actual travel

December is basically the Olympics of swiping your credit card. Gifts, flights, hotels, panic-shopping on December 23rd because you forgot your cousin exists — it all adds up.

So if you’re going to drop a ridiculous amount of money this month anyway, you might as well turn all that spending into real travel.

McKay just wrote a super helpful guide on how to do exactly that — from stacking bonuses to using the right cards to squeeze every last point out of December.

It’s short, it’s practical, and it’ll make you feel slightly better about the financial chaos you’re about to unleash.

If you’re spending big this month, at least make it rewarding.

šŸ“† The only Cyber Monday deal you need to know about

Look… after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and whatever unholy shopping you did this weekend, your bank account is probably begging for mercy.

So here’s something refreshingly not painful: Daily Drop Pro is 50% off today — the cheapest it has ever been.

It’s so cheap that it genuinely doesn’t matter what credit card you use to pay for it. You’re not earning meaningful points on a purchase this tiny.

Use whatever’s on top of the pile. Heck, use a debit card if you want (okay, maybe don’t do that).

Anyway, the value here is ridiculous. Daily Drop Pro gets you:

  • A powerful award search tool that helps you find flights and hotels with points (without going insane)

  • Deal alerts when wild last-minute award space pops up (and also when we find good old cheap cash fares)

  • Access to the Pro Lounge, where our team of travel experts will help you with personalized redemption support for your next trip

  • And bonus smugness knowing you’re the person who always finds the deal first

If you’ve been on the fence, today is the day to jump off the fence, roll down the hill, and land directly inside Daily Drop Pro.

PRESENTED BY UNBOUND MERINO

Travel lighter (and smarter!) with Unbound Merino

Hey there, traveler šŸ‘‹ Alison here. If you’ve been around long enough, you already know that Merino wool is a traveler’s not-so-secret travel superpower. It keeps your suitcase light, keeps you comfortable, and somehow keeps you smelling… well, shockingly fresh, even after long flights and longer layovers.

So when Unbound Merino told us they were dropping their biggest sale of the year, I knew we had to share it with you ASAP.

Until the end of the day tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 2, everything on Unbound Merino’s site is up to 40% off. šŸ˜± No codes, no fine print, just the rare chance to stock up on gear that almost never gets discounted.

But because you’re a Daily Drop reader (aka the best travelers on the internet), you get extra, stackable savings on top of the sitewide sale.

Just hit the spend threshold and take the extra $$ off your cart:

  • Spend $100 → get $10 off with code DD10

  • Spend $200 → get $25 off with code DD25

  • Spend $300 → get $35 off with code DD35

  • Spend $400 → get $50 off with code DD50

  • Spend $600 → get $75 off with code DD75

Yes, these stack with the 40% off. And yes, that’s as good as it sounds. šŸ™Œ

If you want to blend simple, timeless style with the practicality of packing light, Unbound Merino strikes the perfect balance.

It’s the kind of clothing you can wear on the plane, on a hike, to dinner, and back on the plane again — without ever feeling like you need to swap outfits.

Shop their Cyber Week sale to save up to 40% sitewide, then stack your exclusive Daily Drop code at checkout for even bigger bonus savings. Happy travels, and happy Cyber Monday deals!

šŸ“± The best app for managing your cards

If your wallet looks like a chaotic stack of plastic with ā€œI’ll track that perk laterā€ energy… same.

Which is why I’ve actually been a MaxRewards customer for years.

In this week’s Daily Drop YouTube video, we’ll give the app a review and break down why we love it so much.

For starters, it pulls all your credit cards into one place, tells you which card to use for every purchase, tracks your credits and perks automatically, and basically stops you from accidentally wasting value.

If you want to squeeze every last drop of juice from your cards, this one’s worth a watch. šŸ‘‡

That’s all for today, folks! I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend, and make sure to stay alert for last-minute deals popping up this week.

Cheers,

With contributions by McKay Moffitt
