Good morning from Gansu province – where the landscapes look like someone forgot to turn the saturation slider back down.
One minute you’re staring at literal rainbow mountains, and the next you’re in a way-too-windy desert.
Anyway, let’s do a newsletter before the wind decides to exfoliate my entire face again.

✈️ Delta flash sale: Europe for 11k miles
Delta woke up today and said, “what if we made SkyMiles… good?”
And honestly? I don’t know who snuck into their pricing department, but bless that little gremlin because the deals today are actually insane.
This is a flash sale, and you must book today, November 20 — so that’s the only major catch here.
The deals are to various cities in Europe, and cover the whole country – not just the big East Coast hubs.
For example, you can fly from Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) to Milan for just 30,000 Delta miles round-trip.

But wait. There’s more! 🤗
Because if you have a Delta co-branded card like I do, you get 15% off award flights thanks to the TakeOff 15 benefit, which is why the flight in the previous screenshot shows up for just 25,400 miles… round-trip.
That’s 12,700 miles each way to fly from the Midwest to Europe, which feels… nice.
Want something even wilder? Try this on for size:
You can fly from the West Coast to London for just… wait for it… 26,000 Delta miles round-trip.

No, that is not a typo. No, Delta is not on drugs — or maybe they are, and we should all just let them cook. 🤷🏼♂️
With Delta’s co-branded card discount, that’s just 22,000 miles, or 11,000 miles each way to fly to Europe.
I never thought I’d see the day. I genuinely didn’t think Delta had it in them. 🥲
If you’ve got travel plans in early 2026 or if you’ve got 20k SkyMiles rotting in your account, this is your chance.
Book literally anything that looks fun. A long weekend. A random January escape. A “my boss is annoying, so I’m going to Milan” trip. Whatever floats your boat.
Delta also makes finding good deals super easy. Here’s what to do:
Step 1: Go to their flash sale page
Step 2: Plug in your home airport
Step 3: See which cities and dates are on sale
Step 4: Profit (well, not really)

⭐ The perfect pairing you might already be halfway to building
A lot of you already have this card — the classic starter card that earns UR points. It’s popular for a reason: easy redemptions, strong perks, and solid earning.
But here’s the plot twist… by itself, it’s great. Paired with the right partner, it becomes ridiculous.
Enter the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, which just brought back a 100,000-mile offer for the first time since the card launched four years ago.
And these two cards together?
They’re basically the Ross and Rachel of points – but without the twelve breakups and emotional whiplash.
Here’s why this pairing slaps:
1. You suddenly get TWO full ecosystems
Instead of being stuck in one universe of transfer partners, you now get two lists to work with. That means:
Overlapping partners (like Air Canada Aeroplan, Air France/KLM Flying Blue, and British Airways)
You can pool points from both cards into the same program to hit big redemptions faster.
Unique-to-each-side partners
UR points has partners Capital One miles don’t.
Capital One has partners UR points doesn’t.
That means way more chances to find award space when one ecosystem is being a diva.
It’s like having two sets of house keys — if one door doesn’t open, you’ve got a backup.
2. Your earning becomes WAY more efficient
This card crushes dining and travel bonus categories. But the Venture X earns 2x on literally everything — not just special categories.
So the pairing looks like this:
Eating out? Use this card for the higher dining multiplier.
Paying for Netflix or other streaming services? Use the same one.
Buying anything boring that doesn’t earn a bonus anywhere? Boom, 2x everywhere with the Venture X.
Booking a hotel, flight, train, or other travel? Both cards will earn 2x, so choose whichever points you like best.
No more sad 1x points.
3. Better award availability = more successful bookings
Having two ecosystems means:
Two sets of sweet spots
Two sets of transfer bonuses
Two sets of partner award charts
Two chances at finding award seats that aren’t trash seats at trash prices
There’s nothing worse than having the perfect trip in mind… and your points can’t book it.
4. And with the Venture X back at 100k, the timing could not be better
This is the first time in FOUR YEARS the Venture X has offered 100,000 miles for signing up (and hitting the minimum spend).
If you were ever going to build a second ecosystem on top of the card you already have, this is the moment.
McKay put together a whole guide on how these two cards complement each other, which partners they share (and which they don’t), how to divide your spending, and (most importantly) why that Venture X annual fee is less than you think. 👇
